The "All Rounder" Badge.
To earn the "All Rounder" badge the applicant must do a year of lessons in a second instrument.
The purpose of this badge is to show the student how much crossover there is between instruments and to add to their creative practice tool kit. Learning a second instrument will also increase their empathy and understanding as they create and work with other musicians.
Choose Instrument
- Choose an instrument you have always wanted to learn, or always liked to listen to. This should be an instrument completely different to yours.
- Buy/borrow/acquire everything you need to start lessons and call us to make the booking.
Take Lessons
- Shoot a quick video on the last lesson of each season (so four total) discussing what you have learned and developed in the lessons and demonstrating your playing.
- Enjoy the experience of learning, don't beat yourself up or judge your capacity just work with your teacher and embrace it.
Incorporate In Practice
- Submit the four videos documenting your journey along with a one page review on your experience to SM email. The review should discuss what it was like to learn a new instrument and how you will use what you have learned to improve in your musicianship overall.
